Updates in March 2022
This way to Try it out for yourself
#1 Background and use cases
In December, we wanted to know from you in a survey: Are you currently recording times in your company? If yes, why? And what are the sticking points in this? The result is two use cases that are particularly important to you: Time recording for payroll and project-based recording.
When it came to the topic of what, from your point of view, was the biggest sticking point, you agreed: simplicity.
We've taken your feedback to heart and tried to keep the first version of time recording as minimalistic and simple as possible — true to our motto “Software without frills.” You can see what happened in the next section.
#2 Record times on your smartphone
In order for your employees to be able to record times on the construction site, they first need access to our mobile smartphone app. To do this, simply go to the settings in the office application and invite them as a mobile user with their email address.
As soon as you or your employees are logged in, the first thing you do is switch to “Times” at the bottom of the new navigation bar. Here, every employee sees their recorded times on a weekly basis.
A new time is added at the top right above the plus. In this example, Werner worked 8 hours on the “BV Dormer Meier” project.
In addition to “working hours”, periods of “vacation”, “illness” or “bad weather” can also be recorded. These are always considered full-day entries.
#3 View recorded office hours
As a user of the office application, you can view all entries made by your employees under “Times”. You can filter the entries by a specific period of time and export them as an Excel file. For example, you can export all entries from the past month and send them to your tax advisor.
#4 Conclusion and outlook
We hope that with our first version of time recording, we can already make your everyday work a bit easier. But it goes on, of course, and we won't stop expanding our time recording. The next topics on our agenda (as of today):
- Edit existing time entries as an office user
- Create a new time entry for employees in an office application
- Filter the list by “employee”, “project” or “type”
- Set a limit within which mobile employees can add time
But in the end, it depends of course on your feedback on how we will further develop time recording. So write to us as always support@plancraft.com
