For Tobias Haubner, it is absolutely clear that he has started everything digitally; getting young people excited about training in the craft sector is one of his goals - we looked into how Tobi became who he is.

“It's not a job for me but rather a good hobby” - Tobi about his work between crafts and YouTube.

As a painter, he works 4 days a week in the parental business. He uses the 5th day for videos for his YouTube channel to film or edit, make appointments or even plan time for an interview with us.

YouTube and Tobi have actually always existed together, back then with gaming content and today with one of the biggest channels in the painting trade.

Even one of Germany's most successful YouTubers and Streamers, MontanaBlack, has responded to Tobi's creative work in one of his live streams. The following video was clicked over 500,000 times.

Tobi now stands for young, digital and modern crafts; he shows special painting techniques, new modern approaches and has now also impressed thousands of viewers.

Here is another really passionate, modern and young craftsman who combines his passions and really loves what he does.

Middle school leaving certificate, technical diploma and then the master school - Tobi's way to craftsmenship

After school, Tobi trained as a painter and varnisher. With the journeyman in his pocket, Tobi actually wanted to work for a year or more.

The fear of becoming too comfortable and getting used to the new money went to the master school in Regensburg earlier than expected.

Tobi himself describes the immediate decision to make his master as “The best decision.”

Today, the smiles and satisfaction of Tobi's customers are exactly what drives him. Seeing work done and the associated appreciation is what gets the young painter out of bed every day.

Whether in the family business or in front of the camera, there is always support from family, friends and girlfriend.

“Some have already written to me that they will start training to become a painter because of me”

The issue of a shortage of skilled workers is of course also nothing new for Tobi. But according to him, his videos and those of others in his trade are steps in the right direction to bring new talent to the craft sector.

Videos like Tobi's or, for example Painter Andy, show how cool it can be to work in the painting trade.

Social media, such as Instagram, also give young talent insights into the everyday lives of so many craftsmen that was not possible 10 years ago.

But there is definitely still room for improvement...

“But you should take time for it...” - Tobi sees it almost as a duty to set up a presence on Instagram

Tobi sees it this way: New customers in particular are on social networks. Because everyone between the ages of 25-40 is on social media. Everyone has Instagram.

You even get suggestions from the surrounding area and can see which company you bring home to repaint the living room.

Both for himself and for his parents' business, Tobi runs social media accounts to show himself.

Tobi advises everyone to take the time to give potential customers or applicants insights into everyday business life.
